Configure command on Cisco Aironet 1042N

Hi, guys!

I'm a little worried with my question, because I think there is something pretty easy I've been missing, but it took too many time from me.

I'm trying to configure a Cisco AIR-LAP1042N-T-K9 and I'm facing a confusing situation: I cannot use the command "configure".

I log on, enable, and when I enter the "configure" command, it says that'a an invalid input.

When I enter the interrogation point, to show me whitch commands I can use, the configure command isnt there, as you can see in the image below.

I'm following the manual that I downloaded here:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/wireless/aironet-1040-series-access-point/model.html#ConfigurationGuides~rdtab0

What could I possibly be missing? Thank you!

Based on the hostname of the

Base on the hostname of the AP, this means that your AP is running controller-based IOS.  You can easily convert the AP to run from controller-based IOS to autonomous IOS if you follow the instructions here:  Using a TFTP Server to Return to a Previous Release

Does it should be done automatically?

Can you console into the AP

Can you console into the AP and post the entire boot-up process?

Can you also post the following command outputs:

  1. WLC:  sh sysinfo;
  2. WLC:  sh time;
  3. AP:  sh version;
  4. AP:  sh ip interface brief; and

Hi,It looks like below

Hi,

It looks like below message is the issue of why AP is not getting registered to WLC

*Jan  1 00:04:48.119: %PKI-3-CERTIFICATE_INVALID_NOT_YET_VALID: Certificate chain validation has failed.  The certificate (SN: 7293410000000021151F) is not yet

Please verify if the AP and WLC time matches close to each other. The above log shows this is not the case.

Once you fix the time issue i hope AP should register to WLC.

Hope that helps.

I agree with Najaf.   The

I agree with Najaf.

The error message from the AP shows the time for the WLC is way off.  If the time for the WLC is correct, it would reflect in the logs of the AP because this would be one of the first set of instructions the AP will get from the WLC.

The reason that you are

The reason that you are unable to enter into config mode is that the AP is  LAP AP and you canot config it unless you convert it into standalone mode.
