Connect Mesh RAPs using PoE ports.

Hello everyone...

I am designing a municipal mesh network with 300 aironet 1520 Ap's. The thing here is that we want to connect several RAPs to the wired network through the PoE in and PoE out ports in all over the downtown avenue. But I don't know if that is nearly possible.

Here's is an example of what I'm talking about

PoE in                PoE out                   PoE in                    PoE out               PoE in

---------------(RAP)--------------------------------------------------(RAP)------------------------------------------(RAP)

To WLC         |                     Trunk                         |                      Trunk                      |

                      |                                                      |                                                    |

                      |                                                      |                                                    |

                 (MAP)                                               (MAP)                                            (MAP)

--- Ethernet cable

|   Wireless Backhaul

Thanks in advance...

Re: Connect Mesh RAPs using PoE ports.

Hi Luis,

I'm afraid that's not possible.

The PoE out is for one end device, like a camera for example.

The switch ports supplying the power can't give enough power for several RAPs behind each other.
