Do I need a WLC for Indoor Mesh (AP1240)?

Hi,

I want to start implementing a small indoor mesh network of 3 APs Aironet 1240(Currently in standalone mode) in order to grow afterward with more APs. Is there any way to configure those 3 APs in an indoor mesh configuration (for example, only one RAP and two MAPs) without a Wireless LAN Controller? We might be getting a WLC 2500 series controller but attthe moment i don't one.

This is i a warehous deployment therefore limitations in running cables.

Thanks

Ron

Riaan,

Yes you will need a Wireless LAN Controller. Also, you will need to convert the 1240 standalone APs to Lightweight Mode.

Don't use Tilgin
