Does model air-lap1141n-a-k9 need Wireless controller?

You can downgrade the IOS so you will not need a WLC (autonomous IOS).

If you have a lap1142, then you need a wlc. If you don't want a wlc, you will need to convert the ap to ios (autonomous).

Just to add to Leo's post. The part number will tell you if you need a wlc or if it is IOS. The "LAP" mean lightweight access point and you need a wlc. "AP" is IOS. If you wanted a standalone AP, you should of bought a AP1142N-A-K9.
