Re: how to default cisco air-lap 1522ag-e-k9

What instructions have your tried. Are you able to login with the old password? Have you tried to join it to a WLC and reset it that way?

Re: how to default cisco air-lap 1522ag-e-k9

Thanks for your quick response.

The document instrusted me to press the reset button and it will reboot. I have done that but no joy.I do not have  a wlc connected to it. We just acquire it but it has been passworded by the previous owner.I have my console connected to it on my desk and it is powered on by a cisco pwr injector. it boot okey but I am unable to access the console, it rquest for a password which i do not have and the only  way  I think is to default it.

once below is the boot up details

Re: how to default cisco air-lap 1522ag-e-k9

Well have it join the WLC and then reset it. You can also change the password for the unit from the WLC. I have not had an issue resetting mesh AP's using the button.

Re: how to default cisco air-lap 1522ag-e-k9

I don't send any mesh AP's on the field until I have staged them and make sure they do come up.

Re: how to default cisco air-lap 1522ag-e-k9

To reset the  1522 AP you could attempt to reset the AP
using the reset button. The reset button is located horizontally to the
left of the 4 LED's and is recessed in a small hole, sealed with a screw
& a rubber gasket. To reset the AP press the Reset Button for less than
10 seconds, LEDs should turn off for 5 seconds and reactivate.

The reset button on the unit does NOT do a reset back to factory
defaults.  Depressing the reset button  until the LEDs turn on does a
general reset, but NOT a full reset to factory.

If you can console into the AP, you should be able to issue the
following commands and reload to reset it factory defaults:

debug lwapp console cli (OR debug capwap console cli if on 5.2 or later)

erase /all nvram:

reload  (disconnect the Ethernet until the device boots up)

Re: how to default cisco air-lap 1522ag-e-k9

Thanks a million for your time and respons.I am on the  user exec mode only where it request for a password when you enter enable.I am stock there.

you are absolutely right when you I press the reset button,it only reboot but not factory defaulted.I am unable to gain access into the privilege mode where I can issue the above command you recommended.

I appreciate your response,I will follow the link that you sent now.

thanks.
