Hreap (FlexConnect) = Higer Latency?

Hi , Friends!

Recently i discovered strange(for me) thing.

In deployments where wireless clients working with APs in FlexConnect  mode (WPA2 PSK SSID with local switching ) we have significant higer latency to gateway , than when clien working with APs in local mode.

For testing purpose i run ping from client (hundled scanner with wince on board) to  ssid \vlan gateway  ( int vlan of c3560\3750 )

We have

for  FlexConnect mode  deployments   average latency around  ~80 ms

for  Local mode deployments average latency around  ~25 ms

In both cases controllers are onsite with APs therefore WAN latency is out of scope.

Is this normal situation?

That is not normal. If you tested with an ap in local mode and an ap in FlexConnect mode connected to the same switch, then I would think there is a problem. Are you using the same ap and just changing the modes or do you have multiple AP's. I would say it's an issue especially if I change the mode on the same ap and I see latency that varies in the same site the WLC is located.
