Iphone just cannot join the SSID

Hi guys,

We just created a new SSID with WPA2+PSK for guests, we tested it with Windows, MAC, Android phones, it seems work fine, but when we use iphone to connect it we just received the cannot join message, we need to try joining it for several times and then it can be joined. We also tried to close the authentication and leave the SSID open, the problem is still there, does anyone happen to face this problem before? Thanks!

Savi

Let's start with the basic.

Let's start with the basic.  Is the SSID being broadcasted? If so, what radio?  a or b or both?

hi leo,

yes, it is broadcasted, the radio policy is all now, but we tried turning it to a/g only, a only, b/g only, still the same issue...

You should provide us with

You should provide us with equipment and code which can help. So what I would say is to make sure your running v7.4.121.0 or v7.6.130.0 to start with.

Yup, my mistake....

The WLC is the WISM2 on 6500, ap is 3702i, we also tried 1242 but no difference, the software version is 7.6.120.0, so it may be the problem with v7.6.120.0? I remember that v7.6.12.0 also have the cleanair bug.

Ok, so you say the iPhone can't join the SSID.  Have you tried other iPhone?  Can the iPhone see other SSIDs?

New Member

we tried iphone 4, iphone 5,

we tried iphone 4, iphone 5, iphone 6, iphone 6+, all failed. Just now I found that the iphones can join the SSID after several tries, I mean I joined it and it said cannot join, I joined it agian and it said cannot join, repeat several times then joined successfully.

The iphones can see other SSIDs.

I just setup a new SSID with my linksys router and the iphones can join it without any problems. Then I used a autonomous AP running v15.2(4)JB5 to created a new SSID, the iphones can join it successfully, too.

Hi Savi, As I can see from

Hi Savi,

As I can see from the debug outputs, you have the following msgs:

*apfMsConnTask_7: Nov 07 14:23:00.830: dc:2b:61:83:b6:7d Deleting client immediately since WLAN has changed

*apfMsConnTask_7: Nov 07 14:23:00.830: dc:2b:61:83:b6:7d Scheduling deletion of Mobile Station:  (callerId: 50) in 1 seconds

This happen when the user is changing the SSID, and most of the devices do that as there are multiple profiles for sure in each client.

So what you need to do is to enable "Fast SSID Change", follow the steps on the link below to enable this feature:

Kind Regards

What is the version you are

What is the version you are using in WLC ? becoz as long I have tested we are using here WLC with version 7.4, WLAN with SSID with WPA2+PSK for corp. users its working fine in Iphone too.

However, just see if the the version & check if it is working creating another WLAN.

I am not sure but, can you try to connect the Iphone on different location I mean on different AP which is already associated to the WLC ? as I see the debug errors are saying limit users etc etc.. just to confirm.

I'm having the same problem.

I'm having the same problem.  Did you get it fixed?  If so, how did you fix it?
