I have been reading documentation on WDS. It seems that CCKM and WDS are closely tied together. CCKM relies on WDS. The point to using CCKM/WDS is the speed to re-authenticate. What if CCKM is not used? Is WDS still needed or provide any value? Can each ap just be pointed to the ACS RADUIS server?

Using Cisco Centralized Key Management (CCKM), a device configured to provide Wireless Domain Services (WDS) takes the place of the RADIUS server and authenticates the client so quickly that there is no perceptible delay in voice or other time-sensitive applications.
