Is WLANS right solution for ip mulcast network ???

Hi All,

Need some technical feedback on whether WLAN solution is suitable for Ip multicast networks. I am currently using novell netware 6.0 which is purely uses ip multicasts for client/ server applications. The network setup comprises of 6 novell servers running novell 6.0 operating system and some 300 odd PC's. Currently there is a L3 core switch 4506 doing the intervlan routing.

I am currently evaluating wheather migrating to wireless network from the present unstructured wired network , will provide me any benefits or least provide me the same features as the wired network ???

Thanks

Renzil

Could be, although the APs have very limited support of multicast traffic.
