LWAPP 1250 - Channel Selection

Hello,

I recently took over management of a WLC with several 1252 AP's connected. We have a neighbor complaining that we are bleeding over into their channels. They have asked us to disable Channel 1 on the APs . I have checked several Cisco articles, but am new to AP management - is this even possible, or is it a matter of forcing the AP to use channel 6 or 11? Any help would be appreciated!

If they are concern on a particular AP close to their perimeter, then you can go to that AP & statically configure a channel.

If you do it WLC level (under 802.11b/g/n band - RRM - DCA - select 6 & 11) it has major impact only 2 channels left for your AP to dynamically assign.

I would suggest you to move onto 5GHz band (802.11a/n) & see whether all your client support that band. That have  enough non-overlapping channels & should not have any impact on neighbor 2.4 GHz WLAN.

Hi,

Wifi operates over free spectrum. No need to do anything. If the other person has issues , he should move to different channel or 5GHh band.
