LWAPP, WLC and WCS demo

Hi Sir,

Currently trying to setup a demo to demonstrate the WCS functionality.

I tried to set up LWAPP wireless using an IOS-based AP 1200 with .g radio module, a 2006 Controller (ver 3.2) and a laptop client with wireless LAN card and wired LAN card.

I have downloaded the following in order to proceed with my demo to customer

- C1200-rcvk9w8.123-7.JX.tar ( is needed to upgrade IOS to LWAPP)

- CiscoAironet-AP-to-LWAPP-Upgrqade-Tool-v10.exe

From the IOS to LWAPP Migration techniques,I need to ensure that my AP 1200.g is able to ping the Controller and vice versa.

The laptop is connected to port 1 on WLC 2006.

The AP is connected to port 2 on WLC 2006

I have set the following IP addresses

10.2.10.1/24 - WLC 2006 Management IP, Port 1 is assigned to management

10.2.10.127/24 - AP 1200 with .g radio

10.2.10.100/24 - Laptop wired client

I can ping from my Laptop(10.2.10.100) to WLC 2006 (10.2.10.1) but I can't ping the AP. What is the reason?

If there is no connectivity between WLC and AP then I am not confident of converting the IOS-based to LWAPP with the version listed above.

If I connect to laptop to port 3 or 4, I can't ping the WLC 2006. I found out only if I connect the AP or Laptop to port 1 on the WLC 2006, then there is connectivity to the WLC 2006. Port 2, 3 and 4 do not seem to work.

Thank you.

Delon
