Macintosh can't connect Using Flexconnect/H-REP and Localy switched vlans

Hi!

I have about 200 APs (Cisco 1042n and 1142n), 4 controllers (5508 and 2504).. Switches are 2960s and some other stuff..

I Use NCS for management.

We have a couple of vlans and SSIDs, when users connect to a SSID i use Flexconnect to associate the users to the correct VLAN..

The APs are connected using the following setup in the switch:

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/20

description Accesspoints

switchport trunk native vlan 3

switchport trunk allowed vlan 2-4,10-13

switchport mode trunk

Here is a image from my Flexconnect setting on the AP..

cisco.jpg

It works nice with a PC but not on a Macintosh (ssid on vlan 3 works)...

Security level are wpa2, tkip, psk..

WPA2 should be AES not TKIP.  Try making that change to the WLAN and see if the OS X devices are able to connect

I know AES is preffered but its not the cause to the problem in this case..

I can connect to WPA2 TKIP + PSK using macintosh if i dont use Flexconnect and local switching

Well my Mac book, iPhone and iPad will not connect if I use either of the following:

wpa/aes

woa/aes/tkip

wpa2/tkip

wpa2/aes/tkip

Only works if it's set to these

wpa/tkip

wpa2/aes

You need to push out a new SSID for testing, set it for wpa/tkip or wpa2/aes and see if the clients connect fine. If they do, then you know what needs to be changed on your existing SSIDs.

Any wireless device that doesn't work on wpa-aes and or wpa2-tkip, irrespective of that config available on the supplicant or not, are doesn't matter since those settings are not tested as part of wifi certification.
