maximum clients on the wireless controllers

Hi ,

I have noticed the following table on the cisco webportal.

 850075005500WiSM2
Deployment typeEnterprise Large campus + SP Wi-FiCentral site Controller for large number of distributed, controller-less branchesEnterprise Campus and full service branchEnterprise Campus
Operational ModesLocal mode, FlexConnect, MeshFlexConnect onlyLocal mode, FlexConnect, MeshLocal mode, FlexConnect, Mesh
Maximum Scale6000 APs 64,000 clients6000 APs 64,000 clients500 APs 7000 clients1000 APs 15,000 clients

whether 5500 controller can support 7000 clients irrespective of number of access-points its associated with? eg..5500 with 200APs can support 7000 cleints?

thanks,

Ramesh

Hi,

A general rule-of-thumb is ~25-30 users per AP.

HOWEVER, it really boils down to a number of factors. For example:

What kind of traffic?

Voice? email..or surfing? Database access? Telnet/SSH?.etc.
