Multi Vendor Wireless

Hello,

I am transistioning from Motorola WLC to Cisco 2504 WLC across multiple sites, ideally I would like to keep the same SSID's that I am currently using. I have tested this on the Cisco side using the same SSID, encryption and security but I receive unable to connect using the Windows Client. Do you know if there are any settings on the Cisco 2504 that will allow both vendors to play nice ?

I need the hardware transistion to go as transparent as possible to the end user.

Thanks

You need to make sure your encryption your using is the same.  Hard to answer your question without really knowing how the old environment is configured and what you have configured on the new WLC.

Thanks,

Scott

Hey Scott,

All my settings are the same.

Same SSID name.

Same Encryption

Same Authentication.

Same VLAN.

For what ever reason my Windows 7 Clients see the connection but it just appears as a RED X. If I delete the Wireless Profile and recreate it, it will work fine.

The issue may be with compatibility as Apple Wireless client drivers (iOS version 5.0 at the time of writing) support Sticky Key Caching (SKC) but do not support Opportunistic Key Caching (OKC). Motorola wireless client drivers, Fusion version 3.0 and above, support Sticky Key Caching. Opportunistic Key Caching (OKC) is supported in Fusion version 3.40 and above.

The same may be with Cisco 2504 WLC.
