new ap not coming up in controller

Hi,

We have tw0 new 5508 controller running 7.4.100 version at one of our subsidary.  There are few ap's which need to be connected to the network via this controller.

Both the controllers are up in ap-sso , ha mode & they are connected to a switching.

To register the ap's on the controller, we included the ap's mac address in controller filters & connected the ap on the switch port having management vlan.

The ap doesn't show up on the controller, reboot also doesn't help.

What could be the cause & how to resolve.

Appreciate all inputs!

Wait a second ... Why is your prompt "ap#"?  This means the AP is running autonomous image.

Convert to CAPWAP by copying the RCV file into the AP and boot thie RCV file.

What AP model is this ? Are you able to get AP console output to see what's going on.Make sure AP has got an IP & it can reach WLC mgt IP. Also make sure MAC address you entered it AP ethernet MAC & not radio MAC.

Here is how you can statically configure WLC IP on AP to register, Try this with one AP & see whether it get registered

LAP# capwap ap controller ip address

Post the following output:

1.  WLC:  sh sysinfo;

2.  WLC:  sh time;

3.  AP:  sh ip interface brief;

4.  AP:  sh version; and

5.  AP:  sh inventory

Thanks.

Yes,the AP gets an IP address. From the switch we can ping the ap and it can also be pinged frrom the WLC.

Mac address in filter is the base mac on top of the AP. This is a 1552 ap.

Following are some logs that i have from my subsidaries;

10.50.2.7 is the ip assigned to the IP

10.50.2.15 is the ip of primary WLC & 10.50.2.16 is the ip of secondary WLC.

Did you verify this AP is having correct Lightweight image ?

Please provide us the output what Leo requested so we can verify this easily.
