No "configure" command in enable mode?

Got a 1142AG LAP from eBay.

Connect console cable to it.  Seems to be able to get into priviledge mode.  But there's no "configure" command available.  What can I do?  Thanks!

Re: No "configure" command in enable mode?

The AP has been converted to lightweight:

The K9W8 is lightweight and K9W7 is autonomous.  You need a WLC for the K9W8.  If you have an autonomous image, you can convert it back:

No "configure" command in enable mode?

For a lightweight AP, how may I manually configure it to register to WLC?  (if no DHCP or DNS is available)?

No "configure" command in enable mode?

Hi Michael,

If we do not have dhcp and dns we may use priming on the AP for the WLC.

In priming we define the primary WLC for the AP.

Use the following command:

debug capwap console cli

lwapp ap controller ip address

Using the above mentioned command you can manually configure the AP to register with the WLC.

Thanks and regards,

Manas Pratap Singh.

Make sure the AP gets an IP address and is able to ping the Management IP Address of the WLC.

If it can ping, then run this command (in enable mode) on the AP:  capwap ap controller ip address

Re: No "configure" command in enable mode?

The question is... Did you want to buy an autonomous AP or a lightweight ap? The config t is only available in autonomous, you have a lightweight access point which requires a WLC.

No "configure" command in enable mode?

C1240-K9W8-M is lightweight image and will never have configure terminal option.
