hi,
I have a Cisco AP1600I (AIR-SAP-1602I-T-K9). I setup a open ssid and the AP works fine. Here's the configuration:
dot11 ssid network1
vlan 1
authentication open
mbssid guest-mode
int dot11Radio0.1
encapsulation dot1Q 1
bridge-group 1
int g0.1
encapsulation dot1Q 1
bridge-group 1
int dot11radio0
ssid network1
no shutdown
When I use the following configuration to create a WEP Key, I cannot receive IP from my DHCP server:
int dot11radio0
encryption vlan 1 key 1 size 128bit 0 11111111111111111111111111 transmit-key
encryption vlan 1 mode wep mandatory
Thanks in advice.

Why WEP ? Is this a test lab set up? If it is for a production network you should NOT use WEP.
If this is for testing you can refer this.

Hi! This a legacy environment. We are replacing some old access points and handheld products. I've already tried your suggestion and it didn't worked for me. Do you have any other idea?
Thanks for your help.

What brand handheld product are these ? did you check that product does not support anything other than WEP.
Also if you set it to Open Authentication without any security does these device get connected ?
