The AP is connected to the WLC but keeps taking it's Raodio Down. As suggested I have played with the PoE settings to no avail.....

You really should not connect any ap to the 2504 ports. I believe that Cisco does not support that setup.

Thanks,

I had heard that once before, but don't buy it as we have others running on the built in ports... just not 3501's.

Why would they put a 4 port PoE switch in and not support it?

Anyway - when I move to a separate PoE switch I get the same issue.

The thing is you can if you want, but if you open a TAC case, they will tell you to put the ap on a switch.

When the ap is on the switch, is the port negotiating correctly? Do you see just the radio go down or the ap itself. Take a look at the ap uptime and join time.

Thanks,

Scott Fella

I am trying in another switch right now....

The AP is up and I can see it in the WLC. At first boot radio is up but then goes down.

Switch.

Yes - I have created two... One with my standard security parameters and one - open, no security- just to see if that was the issue..

Okay... Well is it an issue with one ap or do you have other AP's that are working. Can you post your show run-config.

Thanks,

Scott Fella

Only have one LAP at the moment... The plan was once I got it working I would "upgrade" my AP's to LAP.

Hey, wait a minute.  I've seen this before.

Your 802.11b is disabled on the controller.

Wireless > 802.11b/g/n > Network > General > 802.11b/g Network Status

Or go to Wireless > All Access Points > 802.11b/g/n > WAP of your Choice > Go to the right and you'll see a blue upside-down arrow, hover your cursor over it and choose Configure.

Under Admin Status, make sure it's ENABLE.

Just checked - enabled on both screens.
