Powering an AP1132 with PWRINJ4 ?

Hi,

I have a question of compatibility with PWRINJ3 and PWRINJ4, here is my situation.

I have the following hardware in my entreprise:

- AP1130 and PWRINJ3 (and i have no spare left for the power injector)

- AP1142 and PWRINJ4 ( i have a lot of spare parts left...)

Recently a PWRINJ3 stopped to work and I was wondering if i could use a PWRINJ4 to power an AP1132 ?

In cisco docs, this power injector is not marked as compatible, but since these AP are marked as 802.3af compliant, it would seems raisonable to think that these Power injector uses this norm to power the acess point.

But since I'm not sure of that fact, I would like your views on it.

Thanks for the help

Cisco docs:

PWRINJ3: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps7183/ps469/product_data_sheet09186a00800f927d.html

PWRINJ4: did not find any

Re: Powering an AP1132 with PWRINJ4 ?

Hi,

I believe that 1130s are not compatible with PWRINJ4.

PWRINJ4 is used to power up APs like 1140s, 1250s or 3500 series

More inofrmation : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/technology/poe/technical/reference/Power.html#wp45205

Best would be to get the faulty one replcaed from your vendor.
