I have two Aironet 340 Point Access and I want connect two wired LAN that are in different buildings.

I have configurated:

-> 1 acces point / root

-> 1 client / non-root

The "association menu" say:

The client is associated with the access point, but the menu doesn´t say that the access point is associated with anyone.

I can ping between aironet but I can not ping between PCs.

What´s happend? How have I to form?

Thanks

You can't link two wired LANs with Access Points because when you configure an Access Point as non-root the ethernet port is disconnected. To link two wired LANs you need wireless bridges.

If you have one AP as a "repeater" and other is "root", only that way two AP can associate togather..But the eth port will be disabled of the AP acting as a "Repeater". Since the eth port is disabled, the wired LAN cleints can't get access.. Only wireless clients can associate with repeater AP..

So to link those AP's wired LAN togather, you need a Wireless Bridge..

A Bridge can accept the associations from AP's and from wireless clients.
