radio0 and radio1are not installed

Hi,

I have a Cisco 1250 access points, When I open the web GUI to enable the radios, both radio0 and radio1 options on the menu are grayed out and it says that they are not installed. Does this mean the radios are dead? Or is there a way to "install the radios" .

Thanks in advance!

Re: radio0 and radio1are not installed

HI Steven,

How are you powering your 1250? In Autonomous mode, the 1250 will require a MINIMUM of 18.5 watts of power to use both radio modules.

You can use the following options:

1. Remove one of the modules and your 2nd module should now be configurable;

2. If you require a BOTH modules, use either a Power Injector or if you are using PoE, you need to to use a switch capable of delivering enhanced PoE (ePoE) such as the 3560-E and 3750-E.

3. Alternatively, if it's not feasible to get a switch capable of delivering ePoE (aka PoE+/PoEp), then you can consider getting a mid-span PoE from various manufacturers.

4. If you plan to have a WLC, make sure you run the 5.2.178.0 code and the 1250 can operate with both radios on 15.4 watts BUT on a lower transmission setting.

Hope this helps and please rate when applicable.
