random disconnection problems with 5 Aironet 1142 same building

Hi,

We have 5 pcs Cisco Aironet 1142  Access Points without controller at the same building. SSID is same for all of them. Our problem is client connected via wireless disconnecting randomly and continues working after a few seconds. IOS versions are same for all of them you can find detailed information about versions and configurations below. Please check configs and help about our mistake or give us advise about how to fix this issue.

Thanks and regards

Kamer AKIN

Re: random disconnection problems with 5 Aironet 1142 same buil

Well if you are using WPA2 you should be using AES not TKIP. Use TKIP if your doing WPA. Don't use both WPA and WPA2 on the same SSID either. I would also maybe hard set your channels on each AP.

Re: random disconnection problems with 5 Aironet 1142 same buil

Its funny you mention all the info about the AP. But what about yout clients ?Most disconnects are cleints related, did you know that ?

What clients and NICs you useing ?

Hello,

We changed TKIP to AES at all ap's. Connection problems resumes We have different kinds of notebooks (atheros, broadcom, intel) Do you have any idea for configuration to increase compatibility ?

If you disable 4 AP's and have only one AP running, does the problem happen?

I have another office working with one ap and same config. Its working just fine.

Since this office has issues can you shut down 4 AP's and enable one only to do a test?
