Reset 1200 Access Point fails

I press the "mode" button on the back and hold it for a while after plugging in the unit and it will not reset.

Cisco AIR-AP1220 B Series

Is there a secret to this?

Thanks in advance....

Re: Reset 1200 Access Point fails

Here is a URL for resetting the device back to factory settings. There are several different ways to do this depending on if you are running VxWorks or IOS on the 1220. http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/102/wlan/pwrec-2.html

These are the instructions for using the mode button in case you misread the instructions initially. They are found here http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/wireless/airo1200/accsspts/ap120hig/12hig3_3.htm#1040055

***********************************

If you need to start over during the initial setup process, follow these steps to reset the access point to factory default settings using the access point MODE button:

-----------------------------------------------------

Step 1 Disconnect power (the power jack for external power or the Ethernet cable for in-line power) from the access point.

Step 2 Press and hold the MODE button while you reconnect power to the access 2 to 3 seconds), and release the button. All access point settings return to factory defaults.

Re: Reset 1200 Access Point fails

This does not work

"Step 1 Disconnect power (the power jack for external power or the Ethernet cable for in-line power) from the access point.

Step 2 Press and hold the MODE button while you reconnect power to the access 2 to 3 seconds), and release the button. All access point settings return to factory defaults. "

The unit just reboots with same settings, does not take the unit back to factory settings.
