RMON mode for c1250 AP

   I have one 1252 LAP acces point which went to the RMON mode . I tried to do the following steps to put a new image on the access point with the following steps :

ap: set IP_ADDR 10.88.81.181

ap: set NETMASK 255.255.255.0

ap: set DEFAULT_ROUTER 10.88.81.254

ap: tftp_init

ap: ether_init

ap: flash_init

ap: tar -xtract tftp://10.88.117.61/c1250-k9w8-tar.152-2.JB flash:  ( image will be loaded successfully)

set BOOT flash:/c1250-k9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar

ap: set

BOOT=flash:/c1250-k9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar

CRASH_LOG=yes

DEFAULT_ROUTER=10.88.81.254

ENABLE_BREAK=no

IP_ADDR=10.88.81.181

MANUAL_BOOT=no

NETMASK=255.255.255.0

NEW_IMAGE=yes

RELOAD_REASON=23

TERMLINES=0

ap: boot

i am getting the following result after booting

Loading "flash:/c1250-k9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar"...flash:/c1250-k9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar: no such file or directory

Error loading "flash:/c1250-k9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar"

Interrupt within 5 seconds to abort boot process.
Loading "flash:/c1250-k9w8-mx.152-2.JB1/c1250-k9w8-xx.152-2.JB1"...Bootable image segment 0 address range [0x3000, 0x10ecc98] not in range [0x3000, 0xe80000].

You need to specify the folder and then the file for the boot. When you upload the file, it creates a folder and then the image is located within that folder.

BOOT=flash:/c1250-k9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar/1250-k9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar

Re: RMON mode for c1250 AP

Hi ,

Actually i found the boot command we need to use in this case and my access points boot successfully after this and they are working fine now .

set BOOT flash:/c1250-k9w8-mx.152-2.JB/c1250-k9w8-mx.152-2.JB

I found this mx when the tar image was extracting

Note: When you want to load the image (tar file)you need to use the following

ap: tar -xtract tftp://10.88.117.61/c1250-k9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar flash:  ( image will be loaded successfully)

RMON mode for c1250 AP

set BOOT flash:/c1250-k9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar

Hold on ... You CANNOT boot a TAR.

You will need to copy the BIN file into the AP.
