hi All,
I have a doubt on how roaming works.
I have AP's and AP Groups
2 WLC
All Access points associated to same WLC
AP Group 1 - Subnet A - VLAN 1
AP Group 2 - Subnet b - vlan 2
Now if a user roams from APGroup 1 --> APG2 , means in diff subnet. What will happen with the user roaming. Whether user is going to get a new IP or going to retain the same because they are in the same WLC.
PLease clarify

User will retain their ip address and this is considered layer 3 roaming. This works fine if the AP's are in local mode, but in flexconnect, the user will drop and have to re-associate and get a new ip address.
Thanks,
Scott

so if the access points are associated to same or diff WLC it performs L3 roaming right and at no point user experiences any disruption.

As long as the user doens't loose wirless signal, then yes, this is seamless layer 3 roaming. FlexConnect is different though.
Thanks,
Scott
