What are the safety regulations regarding the proximity of a 5GHz antenna (AP1200) to a person? For 802.11b, I've seen 20cm, other times 2 metres.

The distance would depend on the actual antenna. The stronger the antenna the further away from the human body it would need to be. For the 5GHz it would be 7.9 inches (20cm).
