Setting up roaming with 1300ag access points

hi,

i have been give two 1300ag access point to configure

i have been asked to make sure that clients can move between APs without disconnecting from network (is roaming the right term?)

i was told that i need to set identical SSID and different channels on both APs

i doesn't seem to be working.

what else needs to be configured?

thanks for any help

Re: Setting up roaming with 1300ag access points

The APs must me locayed in such a way that.. you should be able to detect the wireless signal between the APs... there should not be a coverage GAP between the APs..

Exam..

>> Range coverage should not be like below..

                           AP1                                                              AP2

<----------------------------------------------->                 <-------------------------------------------------------->

                                                   <--------------->

                                                  no signal overlap

>> Range coverage should be like this..

                  AP1

<----------------------------------------------->                 AP2

                                       <-------------------------------------------------------->

                                        <---------->

                                      signal overlap

this can be done by installing the AP on the roof and then roaming around. or even dont by any Cisco ACU or ADU site survey software.

Re: Setting up roaming with 1300ag access points

configure WPA-PSK and use the same key on both the AP if the design is for personel mode.. make sure the coverage of the AP overlaps by min 20%
