Signal Strength through roof with AP 1200 and External Omni Antenna

Here is the situation: We have 2 buildings about 100 feet apart one small office building and one gymnasium, we would like to be able to hit outdoor areas i.e. picnic tables with wireless service for people to use their laptops, while also providing service to the inside of the gymanasium for use during events. Would it be possible to use an external omni antenna on a Aeronet 1100 or 1200 and be able to have enough signal strength to cut-through the gym roof and provide wireless service to the laptops inside? It is a steel metal roof on the gym. If that is not possible, is there any sort of passive reflector we could use to get the signal inside the gym, or would we actually have to install a second AP inside?

It is always better to use a second AP inside the gym since there might be issues with signal quality.

There are many factors involved here that I dont think anyone will be able to say 100% it will or wont work.

You will need a full site survey to see if you need a 2nd ap or not

The AP1100 has a fixed antenna if you want to use a higher gain antenna then you will need to use a AP1200
