singe device to single AP config - advice plse

Good day everyone.

I have a 4400 series with a lots of access points. I have some specialist devices that become problematic if they roam, and they are not too configurable.

I have been tasked with setting the system up so that the devices are "fixed " to a single AP. so device 1 stays with AP1, device 2 with AP 2, etc.

What would be the most efficient and practical way to achieve this ?

Many thanks for the help.

Give them a specific SSID and configure the access point into an AP group.

Depending on the operating system and whatever wireless supplicant you're using you should be able to hard code the mac address of the SSID too.

Thanks

Re: singe device to single AP config - advice plse

The client devices are nt configurable, it's not an option.

I have now set up access point groups, and allocated each access point to an access point group.

However, it seems that the access points are broadcasting all SSID's., which isn't solving anything.

I need for example:

AP 1: SSID 1, 2, 3

AP 2: SSID 1, 2, 4

AP 3: SSID 1, 2, 5

etc.

So I made:

group 1, with SSID 1,2,3 and made AP1 a member of group 1.

group 2, with SSID 1,2,4 and made AP2 a member of group 2

group 3, with SSID 1,2,5 and made AP3 a member of group 3.

This way, SSID 1 and 2 should be available everywhere, with SSID 3 only from ap1,  SSID 4 only from ap2, and SSID 5 only from ap3.

So, that's how it's set up, however, all ap's still broadcast ALL ssid's.

What am I missing ?
