My organisation accesses internet using a VSAT and wired LAN. We then added a wireless LAN using aironet 350 bridges and APs, everything was going on fine, until recently when the link became slow. In the course of troubleshooting, we noticed that anytime we remove the wireless link, the link becomes very steady and fast, which means the problem is from the wireless side of the network.
My problems are:
1. What are the likely possible reasons for this?
2. What pointers can we get on how to start the troubleshooting?.
3. Any software that we can use to assist?
4. Any sites that contains troubleshooting guides for these types of problems?
Try doing a carrier sense test and try to figure out what exactly is the issue. Sometimes, slowness in wireless LAN could be due to interference. In that case, you have to track down the source of the interference and eliminate it if is is possible. The following document might be helpful for you:
Transferring Crash file from standby:

This is the start of a display filter cross reference between Wireshark and OmniPeek.
The 1st installment is a table of advanced filters. More filters will be added as time allows.
