I would like some input to a problem. I have notice considerable slowness using 802.11/b wireless cards in a 802.11/g wireless environment. I have Cisco 1200 APs using a variety of client wireless cards.

The G AP's are Cisco brand? Are you using both antennas? Is the link quality/strength good on the B clients?

Yes, the APs are Cisco 1200 using 802.11/g . The link is excellent. According to Cisco this is "normal". Due to "different RF modulation schemes".

What I believe is "normal" in a mixed b/g environment is the fact that running both b and g clients on a g AP will cut the speed of the g clients.
I have tested running b cards and a/b/g cards on g AP's and everything appears to be running as expected in regards to speed.

Thank you for the information.
