straight line antenna

Hi,

I have a query related to directional (straight line antenna) used on access points.

if we were to use one of these antenna on an access point used inside an office space, would this provide adequate coverage, atleast to users sitting near to it(but not in a straight line to it).

Appreciate all answers. thanks in advance.

Re: straight line antenna

You would need to have it setup with the access point and antenna and then have a software tools to check the signal. There is no real way to say if everyone or devices in an area not directly in front of the antenna will get a good signal or not. Many patches have a wide angle of coverage and also still provide coverage behind. The best way to tell you if it would work is to sample or test it out. This way you can tell how your signal is being propagated from the antenna.
