Two STAs do not see SSID, but others do.

Hello guys,

I was testing the flexconnect 802.1X, and noticed that one of my test laptops cannot see the SSID I created; however, all other laptops do see the SSID.

The laptops that were unable to see the flexconnect SSID are Dell E6410 and a virtual machine Windows 7 with wireless card, and the others that are able to see the SSID are Mabook Pro and Dell E6410.

In addition, these STAs that are not able to find my SSID are able to see others' SSIDs, but not mine. The APs that I am using are 3602i and the WLC is 5508.

Thanks

Since other devices have no issues, it's something most likely on the client side. Have you tried updating the drivers and removing the wireless profile from
The device and adding it back on manually? Apple devices like iPhones are the worst when it comes to not seeing an ssid, so if these devices can see the ssid, then the laptops that can't are most likely the issue here. If you have a lot of SSID's or if there are a lot if SSID's in the area, that can cause this behavior to with certain devices. Not much you can do if you have a lot of neighboring SSID's. One thing to try is to clear out the devices wireless profiles as maybe the list is too long.

Two STAs do not see SSID, but others do.

The SSID is being broadcasted on ALL radios?

I tried reinstalling the drivers, but the laptop is rejecting it. And Windows keep installing the mini driver.

Re: Two STAs do not see SSID, but others do.

Yeah... I would maybe look for other drivers and it can be one or two versions older and see if those work. I usually recommend getting the driver from the devices manufacture site and not from the wireless card manufacture site. Some drivers might not be supported by the device manufacture.
