Unable to upgrade aironet 1815i

I have an 1815i AP currently running AireOS image 8.3.111.0 operating in CAPWAP mode. I am trying to upload a Mobility Express image AIR-AP1815-K9-ME-8-6-101-0 but am getting the below error:

Image downloaded, writing to flash...

do CHECK_ME, part2 is active part

ERROR: INVALID COMMAND PASSED TO capwap-upgrade.sh

Error: Image update failed.

I've been told that I may need to upgrade the AireOS image to 8.4 first. How do I acquire a later version of AireOS?

To download any IOS images you will required a valid CCO account with the required service contact to download the images.

Working with Cisco TAC we had to update to the latest LWAPP image, THEN we could upload the latest ME image and convert to it.
