Using one Guest Anchor controller for 5760 and 5508 architecture

Hello All;

I was wondering if I can use a 5508 controller currently used as an Anchor Controller for Guest Access for 5760 controller and 5508 and WISM configured as Cisco Unified Wireless controller, or do I need to convert the guest controller 5508 to support the new mobility architecture.

Thanks;

Juan

Hi Juan,Prior to configure

Hi Juan,

Prior to configure Guest Anchoring two controllers need to be peer with each other. So your 5760  & 5508 guest anchor should be able to peering with each other.

Since 5760 only use UDP-16666 & UDP-16667 for inter-controller mobility (not like EoIP tunnel as in 5508), you have to make sure your guest anchor 5508 configured for "New Mobility". At the moment if you have few foreign controllers, you have to configure "New Mobility" over there as well, otherwise current mobility tunnel will be broken once you upgrade your Guest Anchor 5508 with "New Mobility"

Regarding AireOS versions either you have to use 7.6.x (7.6MR3 is the preferred) or upcoming 8.x since other "New Mobility" supported versions (like 7.3.x, 7.5.x) already being deferred by Cisco
