Hi,
I've acquired a cisco aironet 1200 series wireless access point and want to upgrade it to the latest IOS software. However there appear to be 4 different versions I can use:
12.3.8-JEB1(GD)
12.3.8-JEA2(GD)
12.3.8-JA2(ED)
12.3.11-JX1(ED)
How do I know which one to go for? I found this page:
http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/jsp/index.jsp
Which purports to allow you to compare different versions, but it claims things are unique to certain images when I know for a fact they exist in the one I'm comparing it to as well, hence I don't have much faith in it.
Is there a high level overview of the 4 releases so I can decide which one to go for?

Hi Richard,
There is sadly no overveiw doc :( That being said I would recommend the following IOS which is not the latest but does contain many Bug fixes;
Release Notes for Cisco Aironet Access Points for Cisco IOS Release 12.3(8)JEB1
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/ios/release/notes/12_3_8_JEB1.html
Here is a link to all the 1200 series Release notes:

Hope this helps!

A recommendation is a good start thanks, but out of interest you say that that release isn't the latest - if it isn't the latest why is it shown as a current option for the access point, and not under 'previous releases'? If that isn't the latest release, where would I find the latest release?

Hi Richard,
My appologies here :( This is the latest release for the 1200 SERIES AP. This was released August 22,2007. I was looking at another train altogether.
Hope this helps! Sorry for the confusion.
