I have around 17 Cisco APs Aironet 1242AG but I don't have a controller. Then any time that I need to make some change on the condiguration I have to do it one by one. I planning to buy a WLC to handle all APs form the controller. I knwo that APs are a little all thats why I am not sure which WLC could I use.
well selecting a controller depends upon how how you expect to grow in terms of wireless(users and APs) i would suggest go for 55XX series min and if you don't expect more AP in your network and you want just manageability 2500 series is a good option .
Hello, gornash. kaaftab is correct, the 2500 and 5500 controller are good options on supporting up to 30 max APs, which also supports your 1242AG (check kaaftab's compatibility matrix link).
