Yes you can. Make sure you

Yes you can. Make sure you have atleast 7.4.100.0 version on WLC to support 1602 AP.

1. For the LWAP conversion, use the recovery image. First download the rcvk9w8 software from this link.

2. Next you copy the IOS from your TFTP server to your AP.

3. The command, must be entered on the AP, is:  archive download-sw /over tftp:///<image name>

check these procedure:

Hi, thanks for the info. In

Hi, thanks for the info. Does it matter that in that Cisco documentation is doesnt specifically say this conversion process is supported for the 1602 AP?:

"You can use an upgrade conversion tool to convert autonomous Cisco Aironet 1100, 1130AG, 1200, 1240AG, 1260, and 1300 Series Access Points to lightweight mode."

Is the below image the correct one to follow this conversion to lightweight?

Thanks

That is the correct filename.

That is the correct filename.

Make sure, after you've downloaded the software and BEFORE you uploaded the software to the AP, you COMPARE the MD5 hash value of the file you've downloaded to the MD5 hash value found in the Cisco website.  The MD5 hash value has to match.
