I'm looking into the feasibility of using a location appliance with wcs location to track time and motion of our warehouse staff. Can someone tell how detailed a report on client location history (movement) can I produce from the system?
When you use the location appliance with the WCS, it provides a lot of useful information which can be used to track clients, For complete information on the reports and the information that the location appliance can provide read http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6386/products_configuration_guide_book09186a008082d68c.html
It can record location history with playback.
The accuracy depends a lot on AP placement & configuration. I find the reports are fairly accurate. There are several items you can tweak such as polling times, smoothing, etc.
Currenty, we track ip wifi phones & laptops and are planning to add rfid tags in the near future.
