Wireless speed of Cisco 881W at 48Mbps

recently i setup one Cisco 881w router.

when i connnect to the AP using my 11g wireless laptop.

I can only reach 48M but never the full 54M.

using thinkpad access connections shows 80% signal strength even when i am very near to the cisco 881.

Accessing the AP through the web browser is also slow.

what could be the problem ?

could there be something missing on my config ?

Re: Wireless speed of Cisco 881W at 48Mbps

how can i improve the signal strength of the wireless AP.

currently i set it to channel 11.

the device is inside my server rack.

all my users are using 11g not 11n.

What happens if you take it out of the server rack..... metal will affect you signal propagation and also creates multipath and that is probably why your devices negotiate at 48mbps max.
