We have two 6500's in VSS mode (Sup2T) each with a single WiSM2 in slot 9.
First configured service VLAN/subnet, all working fine, both WiSMs are oper-up showing a sevice VLAN address.
Next to set the mngt IP adressen on the WiSM with the config wizard. First one goes normally, but when trying to configure the second WiSM with a management address from the same mngt subnet as the first one (but different subnet then service VLAN) we get an error message:
Re: WiSM-2 Cat6500 VSS error in setting mngt address
Did you ever get this resolved?
I have the same issue. We have 2 WISM2s, and one works fine, the other just keeps saying Error in setting management interface IP in the setup screen, is there any way to cancel this ridiculous setup menu pre-school thing and maybe look at some logs, or try to resolve the issue with a CLI?
Oddly enough this seemed to happened out of the blue. We had the 2 WISM configured and working, but now one is at the menu screen, and the other seems to be ticking along quite nicely.
Also, the factory default reset option Cisco describe is devoid of the #4 option to reset to factory settings.
