1121's are not supported.  Here is a matrix that show what is supported and whats not.

You are so right Scott,

it didn´t cross my mind to see if the WLC 5760 supported those APs.

David

Re: WLC 5760 with AP1121G

Well, there are two things... they are not supported if you are trying to connect them as a local or flexconnect ap.  If you are using them as a WGB, I know they work on a Unified wireless architecture, but have not tested them out in a converged access architecture.  One thing that was required on the WLC is passive client and you might have to also have that enabled on your 5760:

config t

wireless multicast

wlan

passive-client

Thanks,

Scott

Re: WLC 5760 with AP1121G

Scott,

in the guide "Consolidated Platform Configuration Guide, Cisco IOS XE Release 3SE (Cisco WLC 5700 Series)" I don´t see the option for the passive client, even in the configuration section of the WGB.

But I don´t think that option will resolve my problem.

thanks

"

cannot associate: WPAIE not found and required" error is generally seen due to WPA2 miss configuration

but as mentioned by Scott as this AP is not supported with 5760 and hence you are not able to get this AP as WGB with WLC 5760.

You can't use Autonomous AP in controller environment. Apart from this AP model is not supported with 5760, even if you get a supported AP model, you should have lightweight image on that, if you want to manage it by WLC & want to act as an Access Point.

Are you are trying to associate this as WGB (ie Client) to a LAP which is managed by 5760 ? Then you should have a LAP already registered to this 5760 & your WGB will associate to that LAP.

Release notes stated, 5760 support WGB, so you should be albe to do that, if you are trying to achieve it under above condition.

WLC 5760 with AP1121G

Rasika,

i´ve tried to follow this guide:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6366/products_configuration_example09186a0080905cea.shtml

The WGB can be any Cisco Autonomous Access Point that supports the       Workgroup Bridge mode and runs Cisco IOS Software Release 12.4(3g)JA or later       (on 32-MB access points) or Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(8)JEB or later.

[...]

On the wireless LAN controller, you should have software version       4.1.185.0 or later.

They say it can be done.

Yes WGB will be always Autonomous AP. Infact it is acting as a wireless client (though it is AP) to your wireless network. So you required Lightweigth AP managed by 5760 to connect that client (or WGB AP)

Hope that clears
