Are there any documents on how the WLC handles Radio Resource Managment ( RRM )? Do you need dedicated APs to monitor the frequencies in use, are there any physical placement requirements?

Also, can different antenna be used other than omni-directional?

Hi Mark,

Have a look at this excellent reference doc from Ben @ Cisco. It has answers to many RRM related questions. You do not need dedicated AP's, and I have never heard of any restriction based on Omni-Directional Antennas. There have been many great discussions on the use of RRM in these Forums as far as Pros and Cons. Some really good stuff, so don't forget to search them out;

Hope this helps!
