WLC and Unmanaged HP switch for Small Office

Dear friends,

I have a small office, we have 8 cisco AP(1 - 1602, and 7 - 2602 Access Points), one unmanaged switch and WLC 2504

so the scheme is:

WLC connected to(IP address 192.168.1.0 range for MGMT ip add and for Access Points) >(one ethernet link)> Unmanaged Switch(no trunk command)>Access Points(with static IP (192.168.1.0 range) and static controller ip address assigned)

No option 43, no DNS and etc, just static IP on APs and static controller command

Everything will be on VLAN 1

DHCP for clients will be created on WLC

so the quesiton is will this scheme work?

Thank you

Yes that will work as long as you configure your WLC management with vlan 0 (untagging). Every thing would be on same vlan 1 (WLC management, AP, Users, etc). So it is not ideal & you will loose some flexibility.

Since everything will be on same subnet AP will discover WLC using L3 broadcast method, even if you did not configure statically on each AP.
