WLC crash file vs. core dump

Hello,

We had a crash with one WLC and we see the crash file locally and a core dump.

Can someone point me to a good reference or explain what's the difference between a crash file and a core dump on the WLCs?

Also, if the WLC crashes a second time, does it generates a second core dump or does it override it?

Thanks!

Federico.

I didn't find any difference, as the purposes are same

To help troubleshoot controller crashes, you can configure the controller to automatically upload its core dump file to an FTP server after experiencing a crash. You cannot upload the core dump file directly to an FTP or TFTP server but you can upload a crash file to an FTP or TFTP server. The controllers save the core dump file to flash memory following a crash.
