WLC Time Change causes APs to disconnect

I have a customer who logged into a 2504 WLC and decided to change the time. This caused the APs to disconnect, and as he can't remember the original time, he can't set the time back. NTP is working.

We have tried reseting the APs (8x 3502i) with no success. Any ideas on how to get the APs back?

Any details on APs and cetificates, and how the time function effects it?

Thanks Bill.

For WAPs  to join a WLC, the WLC must have the correct time and date.  This is due to the certificates.

You want to get the WAPs to join?  Put the correct time in or get the WLC to synchronize with a authoritative time server.

Re: WLC Time Change causes APs to disconnect

If your time is set correctly even using NTP, you should not have any issues. Now if you console into one of those AP's you would see if it is a certificate and or time issue. I have chafed the time and also timezone with no issues. Just take a look at the ap output.
