WS-C3750X-48PF-L and AIR-AP1252AG-E-K9

Hi all!
I need to use PoE from  WS-C3750X-48PF-L to supply AIR-AP1252AG-E-K9. Is this possible? I found on cisco site that: "
Note: For a 1250 Series Access Point with two radios, 18.5W is the maximum power required at the access point (powered device).
When deployed using PoE, the power drawn from the power sourcing equipment will be higher by some amount dependent on the length
of the interconnecting cable.
This additional power may be as high as 1.5W, bringing the total system power draw (access point + cabling) to 20W."
regards
Marcin

to get all radios up and running the AP needs 18.5W.. to attain 18.5 we need to use 3750-E series switches.. the below link will explain you better.. and the below link will provide us the supported switches.

The access point can also work with both radios up on a normal PoE switch, however some 11n rates are disabled and the transmit power is a bit lower.

It can also run on normal PoE with only 1 radio up but then fully functionnal

Sure you can.

The 3750X, you have the FULL power version, can supply up to 30.0w per port (up to 24 ports in a first-come-first-server-until-full) basis.

In the interface configuration you can either use the command line "power inline port maximum 20000" or  "power inline  auto max 20000".

Hope this answers your question.  Please don't forget to rate our useful posts.  Thanks.

Re: WS-C3750X-48PF-L and AIR-AP1252AG-E-K9

Hi,

as I see there is no problem to supply  AIR-AP1252AG-E-K9 with WS-C3750X-48PF-L which is full PoE version. And what about WS-C3750X-48P-L? It has Default PoE Power = 370W. Does it mean than I can supply less APs than WS-C3750X-48PF-L ?

Thanks in advance

Marcin

Hi Marcin,

Sure you can and up to 30.w per port.  HOWEVER, the "proviso" still remains.  It's first-come-first-serve-until-full.
