Can the standard CP-8851-K9 be used with the Cisco CM cloud offer, or does it require teh CP-8851-3PCC-K9 unit. Obviously, going Cisco-to-Cisco is not the definition of "3rd party", but I need to confirm this.

Hi,
The only difference between the two part ID's is the type of firmware installed on the phone. The part ID "CP-8851-K9" has the Cisco specific firmware uploaded to be used with Cisco's PBX, CUCM whereas the other one has a different firmware to be used with the 3rd party PBX.
If you are planning to be use Cisco Callmanager then order CP-8851-K9 or else order CP-8851-3PCC-K9.

For CUCM (callmanager aka communication manager), Cisco HCS and Cisco Spark use:
CP-78xx-K9= or CP-88xx-K9= (so without 3PCC in the SKU name)
For 3rd party call control like Broadsoft, Asterisk, Metaswitch, etc.. use:
CP-78xx-3PCC-K9= or CP-88xx-3PCC-K9=
