Can we disable Commnents and attachments for existing Services or new services?

If yes,how?

Thanks in advance!

The requirement we have is to disable attachments on a request-by-request basis.  Is there any way to do this?

Thank you.

Hi Ashish,

We cannot disable Comments, but you can block Attachments. In Administration > Settings, at the top of the page, there is an area where you set the file types which are permitted for Attachments. You can effectively block Attachments by entering a nonsense file type, such as ".xxx" as the only type permitted.

We need comments and attachments to be disabled for some services and not for all. Is there any way we can achieve it?

Also we have existing integration of Service Desk( Remedy Application ) and Request Center. What is the best way to pass attachment from request Center (Front end for us) to Service Desk? Has anyone faced this type of situation before? Please advise.

Thanks in advance !

Ashish - We also use a Remedy integration and have found no way to effectively handle file attachments.  I have several enhancement requests submitted in this area.  The most basic request is to indicate the presence of a file attachment in the nsxml so that we could at least alert the ticket assignee that there is an attachment in RC that need to be reviewed.

I also have opened a request for this functionality a few weeks back, to have a on/off switch for it

Hi Sandra,

Unfortunately, the controls on attachments are accomplished with system-wide settings and don't support service-specific restrictions.

Ashish -

In the discussion, Attachments on the Request Form,

Hoan Trinh states "So we build a Microsoft .Net Popup window enabling user to browse and attach files on the request form.  Then we just "hook" this popup window to a button on the
