Is TEO IPv6 compatible?

Hi,

As we are studying the impact of rolling out IPv6 in Cisco IT, could you please tell us if TEO is IPv6 compatible?

If not, would you know when this will be addressed in TEO roadmap?

Thanks,

JB

At present TEO is not IPv6 compatible.  As TEO runs internally, behind the firewall, and typically this portion of data centers is IPv4, we have not had demand for this to date.  It is not included in the roadmap at present to allow TEO to run behind the firewall.

We do see a need to begin to allow IPv6 in content, and are investigating this as our first movement into IPv6.  For example, as Intelligent Automation for Cloud content extends to perform network container provisioning, some of these containers may need to be IPv6.  While TEO itself may still sit on the IPv4 portion of the data center network, it should be able to provision these from content.  We expect this step in the latter part of 2012 within the Intelligent Automation for Cloud solution.

As always, roadmaps are subject to change.
